R834's Road to Platinum: Batman Arkham Asylum

Batman: Arkham Asylum is an absolutely brilliant game with a variety of different trophies to be unlocked. Most are for story progression, or for the collectibles, which could be a little tricky, but there are also some more amusing ones in there, such as catching the Remote Batarang, or tying a henchman onto a gargoyle, then cutting him down with a batarang to scare the others.

For me, the difficulty stemmed from the Freeflow combat trophies, such as the 40x combo, or the trophy for performing all of Batman's moves in a single combo, but especially from the Freeflow Combat Challenges.

Achieve 24 medals on combat challenges
Freeflow Gold is awarded for earning 24 medals over all of the Freeflow Challenges - with there being 8 challenges, that was 3/3 in every one. Now these challenges are quite... well, challenging. Two of the most notoriously difficult Freeflow Challenges are Rumble in the Jungle and Shock And Awe Extreme - the latter was the one I was battling with. After weeks of trying and literally hours of recording fights hoping for the platinum, I didn't actually record my final Combat Challenge fight, but I did manage to start recording before this trophy was unlocked.

100% Complete
Perfect Knight requires you to earn 100% completion, meaning you have to beat the game, solve all 240 Riddler riddles, and earn all medals in the Freeflow and Stealth challenges. For me, the Freeflow challenges were the last thing I needed before 100% meaning this popped up immediately after the Freeflow Gold trophy.

Platinum Trophy
With those two down, the platinum was the final in my chain - 14th platinum unlocked.
